1. The surprising mystery of 'no doors'

Are you aware of the fact that there exists a place in Maharashtra known for its unique feature of having no doors or locks? That place is Shani Shignapur, where the locals hold a belief that their possessions are protected by god and that any thief attempting to steal something will be punished on its own. This tradition may seem unusual, but it has been followed for a significant period of time by the people residing there.

Would you believe it if we said that a meteor had struck a part of Maharashtra, leading to the occurrence of Lonar Lake? Believe it or not, at least, people residing in Buldhana district believe so. Also, it is considered to be around 52,000 years ago when the meteor struck the place. Not only this, it is also believed to have been the only saline lake on the earth.

4. The interesting station of Navapur

You would be amazed to know that the railway station of Navapur lies in the jurisdiction of two states. While the first half is in Maharashtra, the other half has been built in Gujarat. Does that sound interesting? At least, it does to us! Do you know of any other stations falling in two states?

5. Cobras at homes?

As strange as it may sound to you, it is a reality of Shetpal and the houses in this village. There is a resting place for cobras in each house, and to date, there have been no reports of cobras biting anyone in the village. Hence, this place is also popular with another name, 'Land of Snakes'.

Aurangabad, a city located in the Indian state of Maharashtra, was built with an impressive total of 52 gates during the medieval era.
