Studio Abrash was born out of a desire to represent this heritage within the Indian design landscape.”

This sentiment captures the brand’s core a bridge between global exposure and local artistry. The name Abrash itself carries a story. Derived from Persian tradition, it refers to the subtle variations of colour that appear in handwoven rugs, symbolising the beauty of imperfection. “For us, Abrash represents the effort of craftsmanship where each weave and hue tells the story of the one who created it,” explains Sahil Jain. “We believe true luxury lies in character, not uniformity.”

Designing with Depth

At Studio Abrash, every rug is more than décor it’s an emotion translated through texture and technique. From wool and silk to bamboo and banana fibre, their materials are carefully chosen to balance comfort, longevity, and artistry. “Material selection is deliberate,” the team notes. “We source everything from Mongolian cashmere to Peruvian alpaca, ensuring every fibre contributes to the design’s tactile experience", opines Shrutee Jain. 

Their design process mirrors the rhythm of handmade creation, collaborative, iterative, and rooted in dialogue. Every rug begins with understanding the client’s vision, followed by renderings, sampling, and refinement. “We involve clients at every step, from the first sketch to the final installation,” says one of their lead designers. “It’s about ensuring that what goes underfoot also connects emotionally with the space.”

Whether it’s reinterpreting an old pattern or developing something entirely new, Studio Abrash thrives on collaboration. “Each rug should feel personal to the space it inhabits,” they say. “Our work is about translating a designer’s idea into texture, colour, and rhythm turning a concept into something you can touch and feel", expresses Shrutee Jain.

Studio Abrash’s rugs are woven by master artisans across Bhadohi, Jaipur, Agra, and other weaving hubs of India regions where craftsmanship is both a livelihood and a legacy. “Our artisans have spent generations perfecting their craft,” says the team proudly. “We support them through fair wages, creative input, and consistent work. It’s a partnership built on trust and shared growth.", expresses Sahil Jain.

This collaboration between design studios and weaving clusters not only preserves traditional skills but also ensures artisans receive the recognition they deserve. “Every rug carries the quiet signature of its maker,” they add. Each piece undergoes a meticulous quality process from yarn selection and dyeing to final inspection. “Handmade doesn’t mean inconsistent,” the brand emphasises. “It means alive. Every piece reflects human touch but also meets our uncompromising standards for detail and finish", says co-founder Shrutee Jain.

Studio Abrash’s collections use an array of weaving techniques hand-knotted, hand-tufted, flatweave, and handloom each lending a distinct rhythm and depth. “Hand-knotted rugs offer precision and longevity,” they explain, “while flatweaves and dhurries bring a more casual, contemporary charm.” Among their collections, Valley of Flowers stands out. Inspired by the Himalayan meadows in bloom, it brings alive the interplay of colour, movement, and emotion.

“Each rug feels like a landscape underfoot,” the team shares. “It’s expressive yet subtle, a reminder of how nature influences everything we design.” Inspiration, they say, comes from everywhere from architecture and art to the play of light across natural landscapes. “Each collection begins with a story,” they add. “We translate emotions into textures turning visual poetry into something tactile and lasting", says Sahil Jain.
