Plan a Bhendi Bazaar Food walk this Ramadan and relish some of the best non-veg food!

Love non-veg? Go for a Bhendi Bazaar food walk because it's worth it and will satiate all your mutton and chicken cravings!

We were recently invited on a food walk to Bohri Mohallah in Bhendi Bazaar by The Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust (SBUT), which has been working on its redevelopment and loved how this space which once used to be very chaotic, looks organized now. The first phase of this project is already done, while the second phase is under development and a lot of shops have already been redeveloped. The eateries and small stalls are also a part of this and are making the area look great! The reason for telling you about this is that due to this project, the eating experience has become even better and now you can sit with your dear ones or friends in an open-air seating and enjoy the piping hot food which arrives on the table within a few minutes. And so, if now you are planning a Bhendi Bazaar food walk, here are 5 eateries you shouldn't miss.

1. Shabbir's Tawakkal Sweet for kebabs, tikkas, and more

Running successfully since 1953, Shabbir's Tawakkal Sweet is a must-visit for its Baida Roti, seekh kabab, khichda, haleem, and other grill items. The service is quick, and the taste is heaven. Other than these, their Malpua with rabdi and mango firnis are also worth every bite.

2. Surti 12 Handi for Nalli Nihari

This eatery has been offering piping hot nalli nihari along with other meat gravies and items since 1938 and is iconic for many reasons. Everything is slow-cooked for 10-12 hours every day, making the meat soft and extremely tender. The price is pocket-friendly, and the taste is simply great. Our recommendations from here are Paya, Nalli, Bhel, and Pichota.

3. Fakhri Farsan Mart for Patra Biryani and Farsan

This place serves a very delectable delicacy of the Bohri community which is a biryani without rice called Patra Biryani. The patra (cocoyam) is paired with mutton boti or kheema which tastes heavenly. Other than this, their farsan and chiwda are also delicious and we loved how fresh and crunchy, were they!

4. Imam Sharbath Wala for milk sharbat

This iconic stall was started in 1925, and till today, it offers only one drink which is its refreshing milk sharbat. Made with milk, their secret syrup, and sugar, this juice is topped with fresh watermelon pieces that take the flavours to the next level. They also have a sugar-free variant for the same, and it is a hidden gem, we say!

5. Taj Ice Cream for hand-churned icecreams

Offering hand-churned ice creams made with milk, sugar, and fruits for over a century now, Taj Ice Cream is delicious! If you ask us, they offer the best fruit ice cream in town and have great options. We personally loved their mix fruit, guava, and mango scoops but feel free to try other flavours, too.
