Tirthankar is a saviour and spiritual teacher in Jainism, and there are many temples in the country that are dedicated to them and have beautiful statues of the same. Some are usual, but some are huge, and that's why we decided to make a list of the tallest Tirthankar statues in India that are worth visiting for you.

Celebrating the birth of Lord Mahavir Janma Kalyanak, the 24th and last Tirthankar of present Avasarpiṇī ( the cosmic time cycle in Jainism which the world is said to be at present), Mahavir Jayanti is one of the most important festivals in India. The member of the Jain community on this day visits the temples dedicated to Mahavir to offer prayers and celebrate the festival with charitable act, pujas, and vratas. 1. The Statue of Ahimsa, Nashik, Maharashtra

Located in the Mangi-Tungi area in Nashik, The Statue of Ahimsa is the tallest Jain statue in the world and has been mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records. It depicts the very first Jain Tirthankar named Rishabhanatha and is 108 feet tall! The construction started in 2022 and was finally done in 2016 by Moolchand Ramchand Nahata Firm.

This 84-foot tall statue of Bhagwan Adinath is present in Bawangaja of Barwani district, Madhya Pradesh, and is built with brownstone cutting rock of one single mountain. It is also said that the facial expression of this statue conveys all emotions, such as joy, mercy, and detachment, and was carved at a mountain at the height of 4000 ft.

3. Gommateshwara Statue, Sravanabelagola, Karnataka

This 57-foot-tall statue is located in a town in Karnataka called Sravanabelagola and depicts Lord Bahubali. It was built in 981 AD by Chamundaraya out of a single granite block and is located on the top of Vindhyagiri Hill.

4. Bahubali Statue, Karkala, Karnataka

This Bahubali statue in Kerala is the second tallest Bahubali statue and was carved out of a single granite rock. It is 42 feet tall and 10.33 feet wide and was constructed in 1432!

5. Parshvanatha Statue, Muzaffarnagar, Bihar

Another must-see Tirthankara statue is in the Vahelna Jain Mandir located on the outskirts of Muzaffarnagar in Bihar. The temple boasts the main statue of Lord Parshvanatha in padmasan posture, which is 31 feet tall inside as well as a 31 feet massive statue in its outer garden.

6. Statue of Mahavira, Delhi

Located in Delhi's Mehroli, this temple is home to this magnificent statue of Mahavir, who is said to be the 24th and the last Tirthankar. Carved out of granite rock, this statue is 13 feet and 6 inches tall and is shown seated on a lotus pedestal, which is 2 feet and 8 inches tall with a weight of 17 tonnes.
