The very first salon by transgender persons, TransFormation salon has been opened in Prabhadevi, Mumbai to provide all kinds of salon services.
With time, transformation is essential. And aligning with this, Mumbai has welcomed a TransFormation Salon – the first-ever salon in Mumbai to be entirely run by transgender persons from the LGBTQIA+ community. The salon has been opened in Prabhadevi recently.
TransFormation Salon is owned and operated by the Pride Business Network Foundation (PBNF) and is situated near Rachna Sansad College. The salon is a ground plus one storey place with seven members of the LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and Asexual) community. The members are fully trained and have undergone a training course before the inauguration of the salon.

The noble initiative has been possible because of a common motive shared by Deutsche Bank and the Rotary Club of Bombay to create a sustainable livelihood for transgender persons. The organizations have provided financial support to them.
The unisex salon specializes in hair and spa services. It also includes a trans-masculine person for hand and foot care services. Along with this, it also offers a place for the community people to sit and talk.
Before this, the first transgender cafe in Andheri, The Trans Cafe had members from the transgender community which had revived much appreciation from the residents.
