Butter Bar & Kitchen in Balewadi, Pune, is a must-visit for epic drinks and non-veg food!

This spacious resto-bar is a must-visit for those who love drinking and offers a lot when it comes to cocktails and mocktails. The food is equally tasty, while the decor and the ambience make it a perfect spot to eat, sip, and chill.

Punekars, if you take your drinks seriously and are looking for a place where you can get high and eat your heart out, head to Butter bar & Kitchen, because we simply loved it. Located at Balewadi High Street, this fun place has both- indoor and outdoor seating and features a very pretty pastel decor, comfy sofas, plants, lamps, hanging cane lights, and everything to enter our list of must-visit restaurants. We recently dined and wined at this gorgeous eatery, and here's what we suggest.

To sip

Butter Bar and Kitchen offers an artfully crafted drinks menu that has cocktails made with traditional methods like milk-washing, Sous vide, and more. Our favourites from the cocktails were Green Chantilly, Sci-Fi, and Tyger Tyger Burning High. Sci-Fi was strong, did make us go tipsy, and had pea-flowered gin, gold dust, and a gorgeous blue colour. Green Chantilly, on the other hand, was a combo of Gin, herbs, cucumber, and butter-spiced soda, and was flavourful.

Tyger Tyger, which was our third drink, did not just taste great but also had a very pretty presentation. Topped with smoke, this whiskey even had a slight hint of nutmeg and ginger. But yes, if you want to keep it low-key and not high, then do check their mocktail menu, where Butter Spritzer is a must-try. This drink was super refreshing and was chilled and bubbly.

Lamb Roast

To bite

The food at Butter, we felt, tasted more like Chakhna as it complemented the drinks very well and the restaurant offers only tapas and small plates. We started with Tempura Asparagus Uramaki, which was colourful, had fresh ingredients, and was served with Korean Kimchi sauce. If you are team sushi, you'll love it. Cumin Lam Roast was another fun dish to dig into and had a spicy kick to it. The thick tomato paste was tangy and had sauteed veggies, too. A good option if you like your lamb with strong flavours.

Burrata & Tomato

Burrata & Tomato was a fancy salad that came loaded with greens and had a tomato sorbet. This combination worked for our tastebuds when we tried it with garlic bread and cherry tomatoes. Can be picked if you are into salads and healthy eating.

Pink Himalayan Trout

However, the dish that made Butter a must-visit for us was their Pink Himalayan trout which was the star of the entire meal. The restaurant claims that the fish was sourced from the freshwater of the Northern side and was just simply heaven. Topped with garlic and butter and complemented with salad and coconut, this fish was the chef's kiss. Another must-try for seafood fans would be Shrimp Aglio Olio, a delicious mix of olives, wine, and chillies.

To sweet it off

For desserts, do try the Japanese Cheesecake and Godiva Cookie with thyme ice cream. These two won our hearts with their perfect taste. The cookies were super chocolaty and crunchy, and the thyme ice cream added to the flavour with its orange taste and was a toothsome combination. The cheesecake was layered with biscoff cream and was complemented with bubblegum-flavoured ice cream. Both the desserts were great. Wouldn't mind going back just for that.

To sum it up, Butter bar & kitchen was truly smooth as butter with its quick service, courteous staff, amazing food, and perfect drinks. Do plan a visit because it'll be worth it.
