Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam has announced that Uttarakhand has made a business worth Rs. 211 crores from Kedarnath and Yamunotri Yatra this year. The earnings have been made from the horses, mules, and helicopter services availed to people during Kedarnath Yatra, along with the travel fare from Dandi-Kandi.

2. Tallest statue of Lord Shiva unveils in Rajasthan

The world’s tallest statue of Lord Shiva has been unveiled in Rajsamand of Rajasthan. The statue is situated nearly 45 km from Udaipur city and has been constructed by Tat Padam Sansthan. The total height of the statue is 369 feet, and it is visible from 20 km of distance.

3. Students and artists dedicate a 21-ft long painting to Chatth Puja

In a collective effort, artists and students from Amity University in Patna displayed a 21-feet long and 15-feet wide painting showcasing Chatth Puja on river Ganga. The students aimed to spread information about the festival to the world through painting and will submit it for creating a world record.

4. Lakshwadeep beaches get a ‘Blue’ tag

Two beaches from Lakshwadeep, namely Minicoy Thundi beach and Kadmat beach, have been added to the list of ‘Blue Beaches’ by the Foundation for Environment Education (FEE). With this, India now has 12 such beaches that have got the blue tag as the last time. In September 2021, Kovalam Beach in Tamil Nadu and Eden Beach in Puducherry also made their way to the list.

5. Ram temple in Ayodhya to be opened for the public in January 2024

The Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, will likely be open for devotees in January 2024 as 50% of the work has been completed. The temple will be available after the installation of Lord Rama’s idol at the sanctum sanctorum on Makar Sakranti.
