Cafe Noir

Plan a pasta pawri with your gang, family, or anyone at this prepossessing french café and an all-day space that has won our hearts with its Pasta menu!

If you call yourself a pasta addict and take your pasta business very seriously, we know a place in Lower Parel that'll make you crazy with its fab and fine pasta menu. Cafe Noir is a casual dining that offers a luscious french menu along with one of the best pastas in the city. The ambience is elegant, warm, and perfect for a romantic date and even a hearty meal with your friends and dear ones. We recently were at this pretty cafe and enjoyed their Mama Mia Pasta paired with french wines and damn, it was great!

Pasta-cular with a glass of wine!

The cafe has curated a special Mama Mia Pasta menu for its patron paired with french Wines with vegetarian and non-vegetarian selects, each one goes huge on flavour and incorporates various sauces paired with wines for a lip-smacking experience. The first duo to apear on our table was the Smoked Chicken Ravioli and the Cherry Tomato Tartare! The raviolli was bursting with a creamy and smokey flavour while the tartare was sweet and tangy. However, the thick herb butter sauce was the highlight here and was done just perfectly.

Up next was Lamb Ragu, a thick pasta sauce with grounded lamb with the in-house orecchiette, a pasta popular in the Southern Italy. This one had a fresh minty flavour along with the perfectly salty taste of the sauce. Both these dishes were paired with garlic bread, and we don't usually highlight it, but the garlic breads at Cafe Noir are worth mentioning. Crunchy, buttery, and garlicky, a perfect way to eat the pasta sauce with!

Cafe Noir

For those who get upsetti without spaghetti, we'll suggest trying the Spaghetti Confit. Cooked in a refreshing pesto sauce, this one had two melted slices of brie cheese on top. It is definitely a must-try at Noir. The vegetarians go ahead with the classic Porcini mushroom pasta, that's just too pretty to eat. The sauce was light and flavourful and the mushrooms added a meaty texture. In between, we sipped the La Vieille Ferme Rose, a blend of grenache, syrah, and cinsault grapes. And also Trapiche Pinot Girgio, a white wine that's fruity and mild on the palate.

What else?

If you are still hungry, feel free to order a plate of Roasted Chicken Ementel crepes and Chicken Quiche de Bresse. These two are filling and had the creamiest chicken fillings. The thin and soft crepes were loaded with roasted chicken and served with Lettuce, potato wedges, and mustard mayo. A perfect 10 for the way crepes were made. The quiche on the other hand was equally mouthwatering. The pastry crust filled with bite-size chicken pieces was savoury and something we'd like to try again. Eating this was like a tight, warm hug!

Thus, if you are anywhere near Lower Parel, head to Cafe Noir because the food is great. They also serve amazing coffee and do a great job with Mochas, frappes, and lattes.
