1. Single-use plastic banned by the Central government

An advisory, that was released last year to stop consuming single-use plastic will be enforced from July 1, 2022. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has notified the ban on single-use plastic to the shopkeepers, street vendors, producers, and the general public about the complete ban that will be implemented next month.

2. Tamil Nadu villages to get high-speed internet

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin inaugurated the laying of the optical fiber in a bid to provide a high-speed internet connection to 12,525 villages in Tamil Nadu. Project work aims to provide 1gbps bandwidth connectivity to all the village panchayats. The commencement of the work is from Muththalakurichi village.

3. First tourism train 'Bharat Gaurav' to be theme-based

Under the 'Bharat Gaurav' scheme, the first tourist train is likely to start from Delhi's Safdarjung railway station on June 21. The train will take the tourists to destinations linked with Lord Ram's life in India and Nepal. Moreover, the theme-based, the 10-coach train will depict the culture and traditions of India. The tour will consist of 18 days.

4. 'Coffee with Collector' launched in Harayana to help with grievances

In a unique attempt, the deputy commissioner of Kathihal, Haryana named Sangeeta Tetarwal, has launched 'Coffee with Collector' to obtain first-hand information about public issues. As part of the first meeting, the Deputy Collector met with people from women's self-help groups, officials from banks, and various departments.

5. India launches first COVID-19 vaccine for animals

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar launched India's first COVID-19 vaccine Anocovax for animals. Developed by ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines (NCR), a Harayana-based institution, the vaccine has been considered safe for lions, leopards, dogs, mice, and rabbits. Further, the vaccine contains inactivated SARS-CoV-2 (Delta) antigen with Alhydrogel as an adjuvant.
