After three weeks since the Delhi government made the wearing of masks optional, the orders have returned to the nation's capital making the masks mandatory in the public places amid the surge in Coronavirus cases again. A fine of Rs. 500 will be imposed on those violating the rules while those in cars can choose to not wear the masks while being inside.

2. Mumbai to become the first Indian city with 100% digital buses

Mumbai will soon become the first city in the country to have 100% digital buses, as the feature of 'Tap in Tap Out' facilities has been announced by Brihanmunbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). After the launch of this facility, commuters will just have to board the bus, show their mobile or smart card in front of the digital machine and the tickets will be issued to them for the rides.

3. Northeastern state capitals to be connected with Delhi via railways

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Railways, all North-eastern state capitals will be linked with Delhi through railway lines by the year 2024. As of now, Guwahati, Agartala, and Arunachal Pradesh's Naharlagun are already connected with Delhi, whereas Sikkim is not connected with the nation's capital.

4. Deep J becomes the first woman forest officer in India to complete the Antarctica expedition

Battling all challenges, 38-year-old Deep J Contractor has become the first woman forest officer to be part of the 'Climate Force Antarctica 2022 Expedition' marking the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav'. Hailing from Karnataka, Deep Contractor is the third forest officer to reach Antarctica.

5. India gets Bronze and Silver in Asian Wrestling Championship

Indian wrestlers have once again made the country proud as Deepak Punia won the 86 kg men's freestyle silver medal as he lost 1-6 to Kazakhstan's Azamat Dauletbekov in the summit clash. Another wrestler Viky got Bronze in 92 kg on the last day of the Asian Wrestling Championship at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

6. Himachal to get the highest and longest tunnel in the world soon

The beautiful Himachal Pradesh is going to get the world's highest and longest tunnel connecting Zanskar Valley in Ladakh to Lahul in Himachal Pradesh. As per reports, the tunnel will be located beneath the 16,580 ft. Shinku-La Pass. The project is estimated to be completed by 2025.
