IKEA Worli City store to open on December 9

After a city store in Navi Mumbai, the brand is going to open IKEA Worli City store on December 9, that is spread in 80,000 sq ft.

IKEA (part of the Ingka Group), the world’s leading Swedish home furnishings retailer is all set to open its new store for Mumbaikars, the IKEA Worli city store, on December 9, 2021.

The city store format is aimed at adapting to smaller spaces in an urban context to make it more convenient for customers to experience the brand’s offer. The Worli store is based on a well-integrated digital and physical shopping experience spread in 80,000 sq ft, whereas the traditional big IKEA blue box, is typically 400,000 – 500,000 sq ft. The city store, like all IKEA stores, is equipped with all safe shopping measures in place.

On the occasion of the wordmark unveiling, Dawid Gałka, Store Manager, IKEA Worli City store, India, said “Kasa kai, Mumbai! I am very excited to be a part of the team. This is an important milestone in our Mumbai Journey. As the first city store in the country, we are coming near to more of the many people. This is a new concept for customers to shop with IKEA. They can enjoy an omnichannel shopping experience at this store, browse and order our entire range through various digital tools.

Aligning with the COVID protocols, IKEA will expect people to follow the latest COVID-19 guidelines by being fully vaccinated with 2 doses and should have completed 14 days after the second dose.

“Currently, the whole team is working towards creating an excellent customer experience with all safe shopping measures in place when we open. We are looking forward to fulfilling home furnishing needs through a range of digital tools as well as the new city store format. Through the IKEA Worli city store, customers can get inspired, explore different possibilities, and imagine how life at home could be improved,” Mr. Galka said.

One IKEA city store is already present in Navi Mumbai as of now.
