1. India gets highest altitude transmitters in Ladakh

The high power transmitters of Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) were launched by the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur to cover remote and border areas near Kargil in Ladakh. The transmitters have been situated at 13,300 ft. above sea level making it the highest in the country.

2. An Army officer sets record for fastest solo cycling from Leh to Manali

Army personnel makes the country proud with their brave attitude, and this time, an army officer has gone beyond his work to hold the Guinness World Record for 'fastest solo cycling' from Leh to Manali. Lieutenant Colonel Sripada Sriram of the Indian Army's Strike One Corps has set this world record by cycling the distance in just 34 hours and 53 minutes.

3. J&K launches cleanliness drive at Dal Lake

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), in collaboration with Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LWDA), Srinagar, has taken this initiative to clean the Dal Lake under the campaign, 'Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav'. Almost 100 SDRF officials and 10 motorboats have been deployed for this one-month-long project.

4. IT professional from Pune works for 'bee' conservation

Devendra Jani, an IT professional from Pune, has been working to conserve the bees and spread a message that "bees are to be loved and not feared" through his initiative, 'Bee-The Lead'. He goes out to the farmers to provide training for the bee-conservation and visits schools, colleges, and corporates to sensitize people towards bees. He also runs a 'TreeFriend' project in schools where students are provided with bee-friendly plants to nurture for a year.
