Datod, the last village on the Line of Control (LOC) has received electricity and road connectivity after a long wait of 20 years. The village is located between the Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The development has been made possible due to the efforts of the district administration and the Indian Army.

The Tamil Nadu government has proposed a bill in the Legislative Assembly according to which all the employees of showrooms, textile shops, jewellery stores, and other establishments will have the "right to sit". The employers will be responsible to provide the seating facilities to the workers.
