1. Free school opens in Vasai for transgender persons
An NGO in Vasai near Mumbai opened a school for transgender persons to provide them with learning opportunities, which is otherwise, not available for the community. As of now, 25 adults and a few children have been admitted to the school so far.
2. Delhi teenager wins award for helping children attend online classes
Ishan Kapur, a student studying in a college in the UK, worked with Shri Ramakrishna Asharam in Delhi and collected almost 100 laptops and tablets by raising Rs 4 lakh through his campaign. His efforts have been recognized, and he has been given Britain's prestigious 'Diana Award' for his contribution.
3. Archer Deepika Kumari gets no 1 rank in the world after winning three gold medals at the world cup
Deepika Kumari regained her number 1 rank after winning her third gold medal in the World Cup Stage 3 organized in Paris on June 28. Apart from this, she has also earlier won 9 gold, 12 silver, and 6 bronze medals at the World Cup. She is also the only Indian woman archer who will be participating in the Tokyo Olympics in July 2021.
4. Rahi Sarnobat gets first gold for India at Shooting World Cup
Indian shooter Rahi Sarnobat has bagged the first gold for India in Women's 25 M Pistol at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), Shooting World Cup on June 28. She had got 39 points out of 50.
5. Nagaland village achieves 100% vaccination
Phuye, an old village situated in Nagaland's Zunheboto district has achieved the milestone of 100% vaccination as of June 26. Out of the total beneficiaries, 101 people were above 45 years of age. However, 93 of them were between 18 to 44 years.
6. Rajasthan mandates vaccination for entering public places
In a new attempt, the Rajasthan government has made it compulsory for the people to get at least one dose of vaccination before entering public places. The fresh rules have also stated that the businesses who have their employees vaccinated can work to 7 pm.
