Navi Mumbai civic body opens a library at COVID care center for patients

In the first-of-its-kind initiative, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) opened a library at COVID care center in association with the Let's Read Foundation.

Now, patients in the CIDCO Exhibition COVID center need not worry about passing their time as they have been provided with a temporary library. Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has set up the library at Covid care center to engage patients.

The civic body of Navi Mumbai, in association with the Let's Read Foundation, has provided patients with an opportunity to explore the world of books. The library has a collection of books in various languages like Hindi, English and  Marathi.

Library at COVID care center to reduce negativity

The major motive for setting up the library is to draw the attention of patients from negativity to books. Apart from that, the initiative has also been taken to reduce the time that a patient spends on their phones.

According to the quarantine rules, a person with COVID-19 needs to spend 14 days in the hospital. NNMC, on realizing the mental condition of the patients during the stay at a hospital, planned for the library.

Under the supervision of Abhijeet Bangar, the chief of NMMC, more such libraries can come up in other centres.
