Delivering oxygen cylinders door to door, Guarav Rai who is fondly known as Patna's oxygen man, is helping people free of cost!
In 2020, when the first wave of Covid-19 had hit the country, along with many other people Gaurav Rai was also trying hard to save his life. The hospital where he was admitted to, was out of oxygen and he was in a dire need of a cylinder. It took his wife 5 hours to arrange one for him. This experience urged Gaurav Rai aka Patna's oxygen man to help other COVID-19 patients, and since last July, he has been actively providing oxygen cylinders to them.
Gaurav Rai and his wife, Aruna Bhardwaj with the help of their friends started a small oxygen bank at the basement of their residence. It began with just 10 cylinders but gradually the number increased. The couple has been arranging oxygen cylinders day and night for those affected by COVID-19. Gaurav Rai carries oxygen cylinders in his WagonR and delivers it door to door. This small oxygen bank has received enormous love from people and now functions in 18 districts of Bihar. It currently has more than 200 cylinders.
Gaurav Rai does not charge a single penny and he even installs them for the patients who are is home isolation. Another thing that makes him an inspiration to many is that he's not taken a day off since his recovery. Gaurav Rai has been constantly helping people. Patna's oxygen man and his oxygen bank are now working in Patna, Bhagalpur, Siwan, Gopalganj, Gaya, Jehanabad, Nalanda, and Madhepura. He is indeed a saviour.
