There are five jumbo centers in Mumbai which are operational right now. However, BMC is also planning to come with three new in the city.
The second wave of Coronavirus is hitting hard on various cities in India with Mumbai being one of the worst affected cities. The dream city is dealing with a rise in COVID-19 cases along with an acute shortage of beds in COVID dedicated hospitals. Considering the situation, Brihanmunbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is coming up with three more jumbo centers in Mumbai.
At present, there are four such facilities available where COVID patients can visit in case of emergency.
1. Richardson and Cruddas - Byculla
This place was converted into a COVID care center during in initial days of the pandemic in 2020. People living in South Bombay and nearby can visit this place.

2. MMRDA Grounds, BKC
This ground in Bandra Kurla Complex was turned into a quarantine center in May 2020. People living in Bandra and Andheri can easily visit this center now.

3. NESCO- Goregaon East
The NESCO jumbo center is another big facility for COVID patients. According to reports in November 2020, the center was also about to start post-COVID Out Patient Department (OPD) for patients. This center is near to people living in Malad, Jogeshwari, Oshiwara, Borivali, and Goregaon.

4. Richardson and Cruddas- Mulund
This jumbo facility had started with 1,800 beds in June 2020. People living in Thane, Dadar and nearby places can reach this center.

5. Dahisar toll plaza
This can be well reached by people living in Virar, Nalasopara, Bhagandar, Mira Road and Borivali.
The government has also started a vaccination drive at these centres from May 2021 during the second phase of vaccination.
