The popular igloo hotel, Hotel de Glace, installed the seven-feet high ice sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi sculpted in just 5 hours.
Before five months to the 75th Independence Day, an ice sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi has been installed at a popular site in Canada.
The statue is set up in the premises of Hotel de Glace- North America's only ice hotel situated near Quebec City.
7-feet long ice sculpture of Mahatma Gandhi
The seven-feet long statue has been created by Canadian ice artist Marc Lepire who took nine blocks of ice and five hours to complete it on Friday.
The Indian consulate in Toronto informed about this unique tribute by also announcing the launch of #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav, marking India's 75th year of independence.
Hotel de Glace is the only igloo hotel in the whole of North America which was opened in 2001. Since then, it has been a popular tourist destination that remains open between late December to late March.
The hotel was made with 35,000 tons of ice and offers facilities like an ice bar, snow slides, Nordic skiing equipment. It has 21 rooms and attracts nearly 100,000 tourists every year.
