Night curfew in four Gujarat cities including Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara will start from March 17 restricting movement between 10 pm to 6 am.
As coronavirus cases are again rising, the various state government of India are taking major steps to curb the spread of the disease. And for the same, the Gujarat government imposed a night curfew in four Gujarat cities including Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara.
The cities will observe the curfew between 10 pm to 6 am starting from March 17. The curfew will continue till March 31.
Currently, the four cities are under a night curfew between 12 am to 6 am which is going to end on March 16.
The decision to extend the curfew has been taken given the rising cases in Gujarat, particularly, in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara.
Night curfew in four Gujarat cities from Diwali
The night curfew in these cities had started after Diwali when cases were rising. However, it continued in the state making this time, the sixth extension of the curfew.
The state saw 890 new infections on Monday which took the total cases to 2,79,097. However, 594 people recovered on the same day with one death reported from Surat.
The total recovery from Coronavirus in Gujarat is 2,69,955 as of now.
