Driverless pod taxi, which is popular in the Western countries to accommodate four to six people, will soon be available for people living in Delhi And Greater Noida.
Like western countries, people in India are soon going to witness the driverless pod taxi which will connect Greater Noida to Jewar International Airport.
To make this facility available, the Yamuna Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway will sign an agreement with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
The DMRC will take the responsibility to set up the taxi service for the remote connection. The total estimate for the project is Rs 1250-1500 crore considering Rs 50-60 crore per km.
As of now, there are metro services available for Greater Noida. However, to bridge the gap to the Airport, which will be constructed around 25 km away from Greater Noida, pod taxis will be available.
The pod taxi will be also helpful to connect people to the upcoming Film City in Jewar.
Airport soon
The Jewar International Airport is going to be built in the next two year. It will connect states like Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh via roads.
In December last year, the UP government had announced that the airport will be known as The Noida International Greenfield Airport.
