Don't we all look for a perfect background for our selfies and groupfies? Probably, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu understands this very well. Recently, he has inaugurated a selfie spot on Marina beach.
Here's good news for all selfie lovers in Chennai who roam around the city in search of a suitable place to have a "master" selfie! A selfie spot on Marina beach in the capital city of Tamil Nadu has been inaugurated on Thursday.
Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, K Palaniswami has unveiled a structure as part of Smart City Mission. The structure includes a Tamil word 'Namma' meaning 'our' in the red colour whereas the second word, Chennai, is in white.
The total weight of the structure is 2.5 tonnes. However, the height and width are 28 feet and 10 feet simultaneously. Both words have a thickness of 2 feet.
The structure denotes love that Chennai people have towards their city. 'Namma Chennai' is placed on the arterial Kamarajar Salai opposite the Queen Mary's College.
Ministers took selfies at the selfie spot on Marina beach
The initiative of the Greater Chennai Corporation worth 24 lakhs has already started attracting city folks towards it. After the inauguration, Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar and Chennai Corporation Commissioner K Prakash also took selfies with the logo.
Similar artwork is already present in Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
