Remember these things before going out and check if you are Delhi-ready or not!
The capital city of the country has been suffering from poor air quality for a long time. Be it the origination of toxic gases from Gazipur landfill site or the pollution created due to vehicles, Delhiites live in a pure mess. The Air Quality Index(AQI) keeps on deteriorating from “very poor” to “severe”. This is an alarming situation for Delhiites to search for ways to be protected from the harmful air. Hence, here are things to keep in mind before going out in Delhi.
1. Use anti-pollution masks
One must thing you should never forget before going out in Delhi is to wear a face mask. Although the current pandemic has made it sure, it is not to be undermined even after the risk of the virus is eliminated.
2. Avoid smoking
The air quality of Delhi suggests that people habituated to smoking must give it up. After all, quitting a habit is more feasible than changing the city!
3. Avoid eating uncovered roadside food
Doctors say that polluted food can cause diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pains, and severe diseases. No matter how harsh it may sound, do not eat from unhygienic places.
4.Cover hair with scarfs
Pollutants and dust in the air damage hair very quickly. It also makes the hair look frizzy. Thus, don’t forget to cover your head and wash your hair after reaching home.
5.Keep a water bottle
It is recommended to stay hydrated while being out. So, keeping a water bottle in the bag is a good idea always. Doctors suggest that one should drink more water than usual during such conditions.
6. Exfoliate skin once a week
Exfoliating skin protects from dust and pollutants. Also, it is quite important to cleanse and moisturize the skin regularly. And, don’t forget to remove the make-up after getting back.
7. Check Air Quality Index
One of the most important things to keep in mind before going out in Delhi is to check AQI on apps beforehand. Drop the plans in case the AQI shows “very Unhealthy” or “Hazardous”.
