Sudarsan Pattnaik Sculpts Lord Ganesha's Sand Art With 1000 Used Plastic Bottles

You might have heard about Sudarsan Pattnaik. If you haven't, are you living under the sand? Jokes apart, Bappa is loved by all and so does our famous Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik. To start the festivities of Ganpati Festival, he sculpted Ganpati with 1000 plastic bottles around it.

He created the sand sculpture at Puri beach to spread the message against the use of plastic.

The beautiful sand sculpture of Lord Ganesh stands about 10- ft tall and was created using 5 tonnes of sand, while the 1000 plastic bottles surround the sculpture portraying a hard-hitting message to save the mother nature.

Mr. Sudarsan won the Peoples Choice Award at the Boston International Sand Art Championship 2019 for showcasing his thought-provoking sand sculpture based on the global concern of plastic pollution.

He has also been awarded Padma Shree for his remarkable work and has represented India in more than 60 International sand sculpture festivities and championships globally and made India proud by winning many prizes.
