Spring is the time when the natural landscapes decide to be even more beautiful with the flowers all around, meadows filled with orchids, poppies, and primulas and more such varities while hills look extraordinarily vibrant! The rich Indian land makes it possible for you to soak in the beauty of these flowers, colourful hill slopes and even plains. 

Here in, and as the Spring season comes alive again, we are talking about some of these hidden treasures that can get you roving here. So, before these places fill with crowds, enjoy the secluded, slow life here!

Yumthang, Sikkim

If you were postponing your Sikkim trip all this time, this is your chance to enjoy at an elevation of t 3,564 metres in north Sikkim, where Yumthang turns into a valley of flowers! Between February to June, you can see the entire Yumthang boasting the rhododendron, Sikkim's state flower. Rhododendron Sanctuary here hosts 24 species of flowers. Other than that, in the 34 square kilometres of the floral valley, expect some yaks grazing in flower meadows while the backdrop of snow-capped peaks makes it a fulfilling holiday for you!

Dzukou, Nagaland-Manipur

If it has been a long time since you were under a clear sky, this is your time to visit Dzukou and its valley, which is also called 'Valley of the Celestial Charm'. At the  2,400 metres on the Nagaland-Manipur border, the valley is filled with green hillocks with many vibrant flowers like rhododendrons, aconitums, and euphorbia, along with the rare Dzukou lily and more!

Chopta-Tungnath, Uttarakhand

As Uttarakhand's Valley of Flowers is already receiving a good footfall of tourists, you might like to avoid that. But then, what else? Well, Uttarakhand never disappoints you with the hidden treasures! Called the 'mini Switzerland of India', the meadows that surround the Chopta are a beauty to behold! Even the popular trek from Chopta to the Tungnath temple covers rhododendrons, primulas, and alpine flowers. This spring, you don't want to miss these!

Sangla Valley, Himachal Pradesh

Closer to Uttarakhand, in Himachal's Sangla, at an elevation of 2,621 metres along the Baspa River, you can spot the apple and cherry orchards blossom while the meadows are covered with the  Wildflowers. You can also find the rivers gushing out of the mountains while the valley is dotted with  Traditional Kinnauri villages with wood-and-stone houses - an experience you only get in Spring.

Araku Valley, Andhra Pradesh

If you happen to be in the south, we suggest you make a trip to the beautiful Araku Valley, which gets even more lively with the tribal culture and natural landscape during the spring. Located 1,300 metres east, the valley is known for its coffee plantation. However, in Spring, expect the valley to bloom with the wildflowers, along with flowering trees and more! For a change, you can also visit the waterfalls here and walk around the valley, which is usually serene and very secluded for your peace!

Talking of the South, here is another gem for the Spring that you ought not to miss. With the persistent fog all around, tea plantations and pleasant weather, it also makes for a pleasant stay. When here in this season, don't forget to pay a visit to the wildlife sanctuary, Meghamalai waterfalls, Suruli waterfalls, dams, Maharaja Mettu viewpoint, tea, cardamom plantations and Vellimalai!
