1. Rumtek Monastery

Also known as the Dharma Chakra Centre, the monastery is one of the most popular and largest monasteries in Sikkim. It was set up in the 16th century by the 9th Karmapa Lama, Wangchuk Dorje. It has excellent Tibetan architecture, surrounded by greenery that will leave you closer to nature. The colorful paintings, statues, and the rarest Buddhist religious art that you will not find anywhere else make the monastery a must-visit for anyone.

2. Dubdi Monastery

In winter, the mountains covered in snow seem like white towers.

The monastery overlooks the confluence of two exquisite rivers, Rangit and Rathong. The holy chants and fluttering prayer flags create a magical combination. Inside the temple, a sacred water pot is placed, which is only used during the celebrated Bhumchu festival.
