India’s indie music scene continues to evolve with artists who are experimenting with sound while keeping their storytelling honest and relatable. March’s Indie Music of the Month brings together a mix of romantic pop, introspective songwriting, and alternative indie releases that reflect the diversity of the current independent landscape. From breezy love anthems to reflective tracks and genre-blending compositions, these songs show how emerging artists are shaping their own space outside mainstream formulas.

C&A – Baatein Teri

Delhi-based Hindi pop duo C&A returned with their latest single Baatein Teri on February 14, perfectly timed with the love-filled mood of Valentine’s season. The track is a bright and breezy love anthem rooted in contemporary Hindi pop, blending playful lyricism with polished, upbeat production. Instead of dramatic romance, the song focuses on the lighter side of love — easy conversations, spontaneous moments, and emotions that quietly linger, making it instantly relatable and catchy for listeners.

The music video, featuring Mrinal Dutt and Hemali Soni and directed by Diisha Danait, adds a cinematic charm that complements the youthful and glamorous tone of the track. Formed by Qaaz and A. Adithya Sreeraam, C&A are known for their genre-fluid approach that merges Indian musical sensibilities with global pop influences. With over four releases and more than 10 million views across platforms, the duo is steadily building a strong presence in India’s independent music space.

Vismay Patel – Jaane Kya Kahu

Independent artist and songwriter Vismay Patel’sJaane Kya Kahu, released on February 20, takes a softer and more introspective direction. The song explores inner doubts, unspoken emotions, and the quiet questions people often carry within themselves. Its strength lies in its simplicity, allowing the mood and lyrics to take center stage rather than relying on heavy production or dramatic arrangements.

The track feels personal and reflective, making it especially relatable for listeners who connect with thoughtful songwriting. As an emerging indie voice, Vismay represents a growing wave of artists who prioritise sincerity and emotional depth over loud, commercial sounds. Jaane Kya Kahufits naturally within the evolving indie space, where vulnerability and subtle storytelling are becoming defining creative choices.

Reble – New Riot ft. Parimal Shais

New Riot by Reble featuring Parimal Shais brings a more energetic and alternative indie sound to this month’s lineup. The track leans into a rebellious sonic identity, blending contemporary production with a strong rhythmic presence that sets it apart from softer indie releases. Its sound feels bold and performance-driven, making it appealing to listeners who enjoy high-energy independent music with a distinct edge.

At the same time, the collaboration with Parimal Shais adds an additional layer of texture and dynamism to the composition. The track reflects how indie artists are increasingly collaborating to expand their musical range and reach new audiences. With its confident tone and layered production, New Riot captures the spirit of experimentation that defines much of today’s independent music scene.

Shikhar – NOT A ROCKSTAR (ft. Janisht Joshi)

Shikhar’sNOT A ROCKSTAR featuring Janisht Joshi offers a refreshing take on identity and self-expression within the indie music space. The song moves away from traditional “larger-than-life” artist narratives and instead presents a grounded, self-aware perspective. Musically, it blends contemporary indie elements with a modern, expressive vocal style that feels authentic rather than performative.

The collaboration with Janisht Joshi strengthens the emotional tone of the track, giving it a layered and conversational quality. This release highlights how newer indie artists are focusing on individuality and honest storytelling instead of fitting into predefined genre boxes. NOT A ROCKSTAR stands out for its clarity of voice and its relatable, introspective messaging.

gini – Feeka

Feeka by gini adds a mellow and emotionally restrained sound to March’s indie selections.
