Two Brothers Organic Farms has extended its independently verified glyphosate residue-free certification to khapli atta, amlaprash and jaggery, following earlier certification of its A2 cultured ghee. The certification is issued by DetoxProject.org, a third-party organisation that tests final food products for detectable glyphosate residues.

The move comes amid concerns over unregulated glyphosate use in Indian agriculture and the absence of routine residue testing for many staple foods. Atta, jaggery and amlaprash are widely consumed and often assumed to be safe due to their traditional nature, despite limited long-term exposure data.

According to the certification process, products are tested in ISO-accredited laboratories with detection limits as low as 0.01 ppm. The company has stated that further products are undergoing testing and will be certified in phases.

Speaking on the certification, Satyajit Hange, Co-founder, Two Brothers Organic Farms, said, “When we certified our ghee, it was never meant to be a one-off milestone. Atta, jaggery, and traditional formulations like Amlaprash are consumed far more frequently, often daily, and across age groups. Extending glyphosate-free certification to these products was a natural and necessary next step. If a food is part of everyday nourishment, it deserves verification, not assumptions.”

Ajinkya Hange, Co-founder, Two Brothers Organic Farms, added, “Organic intent is important, but intent alone is no longer enough. As awareness around chemical residues grows globally, food safety must be built on testing, transparency, and disclosure. Our goal is to systematically certify as many products as possible and demonstrate that clean food can and should be proven by science.”

The development reflects a broader discussion within India’s food sector about moving from trust-based labels to evidence-led verification of food safety.
