After 18 years of shaping India’s dance music culture, Sunburn Festival will host its first full-scale international edition in Abu Dhabi in 2026. This development marks a significant milestone in the festival’s history, establishing Sunburn as a cultural export from India to the global live entertainment landscape.
The Abu Dhabi edition represents the festival’s first international flagship event and marks the start of a collaboration between BookMyShow, India’s entertainment platform, and Ethara, a Middle East-based live experience company. Scheduled for December 2026, the Abu Dhabi event will run simultaneously with Sunburn Festival India 2026, creating two parallel flagship editions across two nations and time zones. Both editions will share a common lineup, creating synchronised performances and a unified festival experience across borders.
Founded in Goa in 2007, Sunburn has grown into a nationwide entertainment brand with extensions such as Sunburn Arena, Sunburn Academy, and Sunburn Campus. Today, the festival ranks #8 on DJ Mag’s ‘Top 100 Festivals of 2025’ list, alongside global festivals including Tomorrowland and Ultra. Its Abu Dhabi expansion signals Sunburn’s ambition to expand its influence across global music circuits, connecting South Asia and the Middle East within the international electronic dance music ecosystem.
Sunburn India 2025 in Mumbai will continue as scheduled, with the Abu Dhabi announcement extending the brand’s reach without changing its commitment to Indian audiences.
