Malaki, the innovative homegrown premium beverage brand, has announced the successful closure of its Seed funding round, securing Rs. 5.7 crores. The round was led by Venture Catalysts, India’s leading early-stage investor, with participation from Maarc Ventures and the Dadachanji Family Office.
Founded in 2020 by brothers Mohit and Ashish Bhatia, Malaki has rapidly gained attention for its design-forward ethos, sustainability initiatives, and the iconic patented Malaki Crystal Bottle. Featured on Shark Tank India, the brand is redefining the premium beverage category for a new generation of Indian consumers.
The fresh capital will fuel Malaki’s expansion into new metro markets, strengthen its online and Quick Commerce presence, and amplify sustainability efforts. The brand is poised to deepen its reach across premium hospitality outlets and make high-quality, world-class beverages more accessible to young, discerning Indians.
Commenting on the fundraise, Mohit Bhatia, Co-founder of Malaki said, "Malaki was born from our belief that Indian consumers deserve world-class products crafted by homegrown brands innovating for a new generation. This is about inventing, not imitating, and creating a proudly Indian brand stocked in every fridge."
Co-founder Ashish Bhatia added, "At Malaki, we’re committed to building a brand that embodies quality, innovation, and purpose. This fundraise validates our vision and equips us to accelerate expansion, bringing a fresh perspective to hydration and beverage culture in India."
Dr. Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, Co-founder of Venture Catalysts said, "Malaki exemplifies innovation and sustainability in the rapidly evolving premium beverage market. We believe strongly in the founders' capabilities and are excited to back their vision to build India's next iconic consumer brand."
Akshat Chhabra, Director at Maarc Ventures, remarked, "Ashish and Mohit’s passion, combined with their long-term vision, was evident from the outset. We are proud to support the Malaki team on their journey."
Today, Malaki is available across 500+ premium hospitality outlets, partnering with global brands like Singapore Airlines, Ritz Carlton, and Hyatt. With operations established across Mumbai, Pune, and Goa, the brand is now set to expand into Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Hyderabad.
