Reliance Retail relaunches Shein back in India
China's fast fashion brand Shein makes a comeback in India with a hand from Ambani's Reliance Retail. Shein was among several Chinese apps banned by the Indian government in 2020 due to concerns over data security and national interest. Nearly 5 years later, the popular brand is making a comeback with a dedicated mobile application, initially for customers in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. In an agreement signed between the Indian and the Chinese brands, Reliance Retail has full control over manufacturing, operations, and data sovereignty, while Shein functions as a technology partner and earns a licensing fee for brand usage.
Shubhanshu Shukla becomes the first Indian astronaut to travel to the space station
Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla is set to make history by becoming the country's first astronaut to visit the International Space Station (ISS). On a collaborative mission between NASA and ISRO, he will fly on the Axiom-4 mission. Shukla said he would carry several items representing India.

The final 'Amrit Snan' of Maha Kumbh 2025 coincides with the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami, making it one of the most visited Snan. As per the Uttar Pradesh Information Department, by 8 am, over 62.25 lakh devotees had taken the holy dip, bringing the total number of pilgrims to more than 34.97 crore since January 13. Sadhus, including the well-known Naga sadhus from different akharas, travelled ceremoniously to the ghats in the early morning hours.

In a thrilling tie-breaker at the Tata Chess Title, Grand Master R. Praggnanandhaa shocked everyone by beating the World Champion Gukesh. The young chess master beat Gukesh in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands, on Sunday and became the first Indian since Viswanathan Anand in 2006 to win the top prize at the Tata Steel Masters. Gukesh and Pragg, the two leaders in the 14-player round-robin event, were tied at the end of 13 classical rounds.
Cricketer Abhishek Sharma becomes the top Indian scorer in T20, breaks multiple records

Indian batter Abhishek Sharma on Sunday, February 2, smashed 135 runs in 54 balls against England to become the highest-scoring Indian batsman in T20. As he reached his hundred, Abhishek set several records, including the record for the most sixes by an Indian in a Twenty20 International, also scoring the second-fastest fifty by an Indian and the fastest at home when he reached the landmark in 17 balls. The batter did not stop here, as he went on to score a hundred in just 37 balls, the second-fastest by an Indian in T20Is. With this, he also helped India reach the highest-ever T20 total of 247 in Wankhade Stadium, Mumbai.
