Sumit Nagal Becomes Joint-Fourth Highest-Ranked Indian Man in ATP Rankings

The 26-year-old tennis player from India became the joint-fourth highest-ranked Indian man in the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) ranking (since the introduction of the computerised system of rankings in 1973) after he equalled the 71st position with Sashi Menon, who was ranked at the same position in 1975. Only 3 Indians; Somdev Devvarman (rank 62), Ramesh Krishnan (rank 23) and Vijay Amritraj (rank18) are ahead of his ranking and a total of 10 players (including him) have been under 100th rank in Indian tennis history. Nagal achieved this feat after he finished as runner-up at an ATP Challenger Tour event in Perugia on Sunday, climbing six spots to move past Leander Paes.

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Sunday that the first trial run of the Sangaldan-Reasi train was completed. The train crossed the world's tallest railway bridge, Chenab making it a significant achievement for India. The Railway Minster posted on X (formally Twitter), "1st trial train has successfully run from Sangaldan to Reasi."
Swiggy Relaunches its Premium Grocery Delivery Service "Handpicked" in Bengaluru

Food and Delivery platform Swiggy relaunched "Handpicked" its exclusive grocery delivery service as a new quick commerce category. The company launched this special service in Bangalore last year but had to shut it down. According to the company, the renewed "Handpicked" offers a curated selection of local, regional and selected new-age brands, clean-label products, freshly prepared items and gourmet offerings, as an alternative to mass-produced goods. The service is now available in Bengaluru and will soon expand to Delhi and Mumbai,

After the Indian football team could not qualify for the third round of the FIFA World Cup 2026, the AIFF (ALL India Football Federation) sacked the head coach of the men's team. The statement issued by the federation stated, "A 'notice of termination' has been issued to Indian men's national football team head coach Igor Stimac and that the Croatian is relieved of his obligations with immediate effect." "Noting the disappointing outcome of the Senior Men’s National Team's FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification campaign, the members unanimously agreed that a new Head Coach would be best placed to take the team forward," the notice further stated.

On Saturday, Hyundai Motor's India division requested regulatory approval for a possible largest-ever offering on the Indian stock exchange, including the South Korean parent firm selling up to 17.5% of the business.
