For this week's Local Eats Edit, we bring you the finest restaurants!  India's culinary scene is constantly evolving — and 2026 is already shaping up to be a flavourful year. Whether you’re in the mood for fine dining, street-style dishes, or just a perfect cup of coffee, here’s a look at the newest spots in town that everyone’s talking about.

Bastian Riviera’s New Year’s Eve Debut in Goa

1

Bastian Riviera marked its first New Year’s Eve in Goa, signalling a new phase for Bastian Hospitality’s coastal presence in Morjim. Positioned as a lifestyle-led venue, the property combines dining, music, and leisure rather than functioning solely as a restaurant. Spread along the Morjim backwaters, the space includes a central pyramid-inspired structure, water-facing cabanas, open courtyards, and relaxed social zones.

Adarsh Sweets’ Seasonal Strawberry Special

5

Adarsh Sweets introduced its Strawberry Special as a limited seasonal menu that blends traditional Indian desserts with fresh strawberries. One of the highlights, the Strawberry Cloud, layers Kalakand, malai rabri, and mascarpone with seasonal berry compote. Other offerings include a Strawberry Katli Taco that reinterprets kaju katli and a fruit-infused strawberry shrikhand.

Sabores and the Modern Interpretation of Goan–Portuguese Cuisine

2

Sabores opened in Bambolim, Goa, as a compact 60-seater restaurant rooted in Goan–Portuguese culinary traditions. Located within Clube de Palma, the space draws from colonial-era architectural elements while maintaining a contemporary layout. The restaurant is led by Akshay Quenim, whose background reflects both family-led hospitality and formal global training. Sabores focuses on reworking heritage flavours using modern techniques rather than replicating traditional recipes verbatim.

SAMAA at Fairmont Mumbai

3

Fairmont Mumbai introduced SAMAA as a poolside, open-sky dining space inspired by Mediterranean coastal settings. Designed as an evening-led venue, it emphasises outdoor seating, sunset views, and a slower dining rhythm. The space uses warm lighting, water reflections, and minimal décor to create a calm contrast to the surrounding city. SAMAA operates as a reservation-only experience, catering to smaller gatherings and quieter social settings.

Dynamo’s Cliffside Sundowner Scene in Vagator

4

Dynamo opened in Vagator as a cliffside restro-lounge that bridges sunset drinking and late-evening nightlife. The venue gradually transitions from relaxed sundowners into a more music-driven night, led primarily by techno and electronic sounds. Its interiors feature rustic metal elements, wood textures, and sea-facing seating that keeps the focus on the landscape. The menu spans global small plates alongside Indian-inspired dishes, designed to pair easily with cocktails
