UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer visited the country on October 8, 2025, for the first time. The two leaders met in India's financial capital Mumbai, where the prime minister is on a two-day trade mission with the largest ever delegation of more than 100 CEOs, entrepreneurs, university vice-chancellors and cultural leaders.
During his visit to India, Sir Keir Starmer visited Khyber, one of Mumbai’s most iconic dining institutions, while in the city. The Prime Minister and his delegation from the British High Commission attended a sit-down dinner for 40 guests at the landmark restaurant in Kala Ghoda, known for its North-West Frontier cuisine and rich cultural legacy.
The menu for the evening featured Khyber favourites such as Paneer Tikka Masala, Chicken Kagani, Jeera Aloo, Dal Makhani, Steamed Rice, Reshmi Broccoli, Chicken Reshmi Kebab, Palak Paneer, and Chicken Rara, among others; dishes that have defined Khyber’s legacy for over six decades.
Currently celebrating its 65th anniversary, Mr. Ishaan Bahl is, third-generation custodian of the brand. “It is a proud moment for all of us at Khyber to have hosted the UK Prime Minister. For over five decades, Khyber has embodied India’s culture and hospitality, and this visit reaffirms our place as a landmark in Mumbai’s dining legacy and history,” says Ishaan Bahl, CEO, Khyber.
