Invogue, an Indian shapewear brand, marked a key moment in its journey with its appearance on Shark Tank India Season 5, where it secured a Rs. 2 crore investment. The brand’s story stood out for its origins, having grown from a personal idea into a consumer-focused business built without external funding over the past two years.

Founded by 25-year-old entrepreneur Maadhav Saxena, Invogue began as a response to a gap in the Indian market for shapewear designed for Indian bodies. The idea emerged from a personal experience and later evolved into a joint entrepreneurial effort when Ragini joined as Co-founder. Her involvement brought direct insight into comfort, fit, and usability, shaping the brand’s approach to everyday shapewear solutions.

Since its inception, Invogue has remained fully bootstrapped, choosing to focus on product development and operational discipline rather than heavy marketing spends. The brand entered a category that had limited presence in India at the time and worked towards building shapewear with a focus on compression, performance, and everyday wearability. Today, Invogue serves over 80,000 customers and offers silhouettes designed to work across both ethnic and contemporary outfits.

Speaking about the journey, Maadhav Saxena, Founder of Invogue, said, “This journey was never about chasing noise - it was about building something that truly worked. Since our launch in 2023, we have focused on comfortable, high-performance shapewear in India, and even today we stay at least six months ahead of the market. Our vision is to build Invogue into a foundation fashion brand- the essential layer beneath every outfit. From sculpted bras and innerwear to tummy tuckers and swimwear, we’re building solutions so no one has to make the kind of compromises Ragini once did.”

The brand has now entered a phase of planned growth and is seeking capital to scale operations, expand product categories, and develop an omnichannel presence. As part of this phase, Invogue recently collaborated with Malaika Arora on a digital campaign aimed at reaching a wider audience through an entertainment-led format.

During their pitch on Shark Tank India Season 5, the founders highlighted their focus on profitability, clarity of vision, and disciplined execution. Their approach, built without prior institutional funding, resonated with the Sharks and positioned Invogue as a business focused on long-term growth.

Invogue received backing from Aman Gupta, who invested Rs. 2 crore in the brand. Following the deal, Aman Gupta said, “I truly believe in founders, and these are the ones who- if guided well- can do the impossible. I see them as the underdogs of this industry, and that’s exactly why I made this offer. I want to help people who need help, and all they really need is the right guidance.”

Looking ahead, Invogue plans to expand beyond its core shapewear range into sculpted bras, innerwear, tummy tuckers, swimwear, and other related categories. The brand is also working towards strengthening its presence across both online and offline retail channels.

Invogue’s appearance on Shark Tank India Season 5 represents a new phase for the brand, bringing wider visibility to a business built through personal insight, steady growth, and a focus on product performance.
