The Indian men's hockey team scripted history by winning the second consecutive gold for the nation in the Olympics. Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Singh, the boys clinched the bronze medal by 2-1 in front of Spain. This match even marks the end of the sporting career for the star goalkeeper PR Sreejesh who has been a key player this season. With this win, the Indian men's hockey team now has 13 Olympic medals, consisting of 8 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze.

The golden boy of India has proved himself yet again by bagging a silver medal in the men's javelin throw. He won the second position for a season-best throw of 89.45 and missed a chance of winning the first spot against Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem who made an Olympic record throw of 92.97. The star-javelin thrower had got India's first gold in a track and field event back in Tokyo Olympics 2020.

  • The Indian men’s hockey team secured a 1-1 draw with Argentina in their second Pool B match at the Paris 2024 Olympics at the Stade Yves-du-Manoir on Monday. They had secured a 4-2 victory over New Zealand in a gripping men’s hockey match, showcasing strong offensive play and solid defense.
  • PV Sindhu and H.S. Prannoy, both seasoned badminton players, started their singles campaigns with victories.
  • On her Olympic debut in boxing, Nikhat Zareen won her opening bout, advancing to the women’s 50kg round of 16, where she will face reigning 52kg world champion Wu Yu.
  • In table tennis, Sreeja Akula and Manika Batra reached the women’s singles round of 32, while Sharath Kamal and Harmeet Desai were eliminated in the men’s singles.

  • India’s tennis and swimming campaigns concluded on Sunday. Rohan Bopanna and N. Sriram Balaji were eliminated in the men’s doubles first round, and Sumit Nagal exited in the men’s singles. Srihari Nataraj and Dhinidhi Desinghu also did not advance past their swimming heats.
  • Indian mixed team Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Cheema finished 10th with 576 points, missing the top four as their combined score of 288 each fell short of advancing to the medal rounds.
  • Preeti Pawar marched into the women’s 54kg round of 16 boxing event at the Paris 2024 Olympics with a 5-0 win over Vietnam’s Vo Thi Kim Anh at the North Paris Arena on Saturday.

Day 3

  • Manu Bhaker, Sarabjot Singh have qualified for Bronze Medal Match in 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Event. The duo finished third in the event, accumulating a total of 580 points with 20 perfect shots. They will now compete against the Korean pair of Xue Li and Wonho Lee (who finished 4th with 579 points and 18 perfect shots) in the bronze medal match on Tuesday.
  • Lakshya Sen dominated Belgium’s Julien Carraggi in two straight games to clinch another victory in the group stages of the Men’s Badminton at the Paris Olympics on Monday. Sen’s victory over Kevin Cordon, a Tokyo Olympics semifinalist, in the opening Group L match on Sunday was “deleted” after his Guatemalan opponent pulled out of the Olympics due to a left elbow injury. He will face third seed and world number three and reigning Asian champion Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in his final group match on Wednesday.

Day 4

  • The Indian men's archery team, consisting of Dhiraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai, and Pravin Jadhav, faced a challenging quarterfinal match against Turkey at the Paris Olympics, ultimately losing 2-6.
  • India's Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto lost 11-21, 12-21 to Japan’s Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida on Monday for their second defeat Group C of women’s doubles competition.
  • Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy have qualified for the men’s doubles quarter-finals at the Paris 2024 Olympics badminton tournament on Monday. They were supposed to face Mark Lamsfuss and Marvin Seidel of Germany. However, Lamsfuss’ injury forced the pair to withdraw from the Olympics, leading to the match getting cancelled.

Day 5

  • India’s tennis campaign at the Paris 2024 Olympics ended on Sunday after both Sumit Nagal and the pair of Rohan Bopanna and N Sriram Balaji lost their respective opening round matches at the Roland Garros Stadium.
  • Manika Batra becomes first Indian table tennis female player to advance to pre-quarterfinals when she got the better of France’s Prithika Pavade in her round-of-32 match at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 on Monday.
  • Neeraj Chopra advanced to the javelin throw finals after a strong performance in the qualifiers.
  • Avinash Sable achieved a personal best in the 3000m steeplechase final, finishing in a commendable position.

  • Wrestler Aman Sehrawat lost to Japan's Rei Higuchi in the 57kg freestyle semifinal bout, set to compete for the bronze medal against Puerto Rica's Darian Cruz.
