Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) has formalised multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) under its CSR initiative Project SHINE in the presence of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
The signing was also attended by Shri Girish Mahajan, Hon’ble Minister of Water Resources and Disaster Management, and Shri Pankaja Munde, Hon’ble Minister of Environment & Climate Change, Animal Husbandry, along with senior government officials. The partnerships are focused on strengthening communities across Pune, Ratnagiri, Palghar, and Jalgaon through programmes in women’s empowerment, water access, healthcare, and education.
The MoUs were signed with the district administrations of Ratnagiri, Palghar, Jalgaon, and Pune. Shri Devender Singh, IAS, District Collector, Ratnagiri; Dr Indu Rani Jakhar, IAS, District Collector, Palghar; Shri Ayush Prasad, IAS, District Collector, Jalgaon; and Shri Jitendra Dudi, IAS, District Collector, Pune, will support project implementation by facilitating necessary permissions, approvals, beneficiary selection, stakeholder coordination, and community mobilisation. By aligning HCCB’s initiatives with district development plans, the administrations will work towards ensuring effective execution of the projects.
HCCB will plan, co-design, and deliver CSR initiatives across the four districts, including deployment of electric vehicles for waste collection, rejuvenation of water bodies, upgradation of schools and Anganwadis, and strengthening of Primary Health Centres (PHCs).
Additional efforts will include development of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) ecosystems, construction of overhead water tanks, hygiene and nutrition training, expansion of Naagrik Soochna Kendras (NSKs) to improve access to government schemes, and livelihood support for women’s Self-Help Groups. Programmes for digital literacy and youth skill development will also be part of the implementation.
Through Project SHINE, HCCB has established five core thematic areas: sustainable solutions for environment and disaster management, health and hygiene through WASH initiatives, inclusive growth via women’s empowerment and livelihood, nurturing potential with education and skill building, and empowering communities for a better future.
The initiative has already included projects such as health awareness programmes, waste management efforts, installation of smartboards, Anganwadi upgradation, awareness sessions on government schemes through NSKs, and skill development training for women and youth.
To date, HCCB’s CSR work under Project SHINE has positively impacted approximately 1,20,000 individuals across Maharashtra. Through this latest set of MoUs, the company reaffirms its long-term commitment to supporting inclusive and sustainable development in the state.
