Funding Round-up this week: March 26 to April 1

Local Samosa is back with this week's funding round-up. From March 26 to April 1 the week has observed many deals related to fundraising, startups and acquisitions.

This week, $125.13 million in funding was obtained by 17 Indian startups. 9 initial-stage deals and 7 expansion-stage deals made up these fundraising rounds. Furthermore, an undisclosed sum of capital was given to an initial-stage firm.

With 5 transactions, Bengaluru-based companies accounted for the largest share of funding agreements by city, followed by Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Patna, Kolkata, and Agra.

With four transactions, seed funding deals led the weekly rankings, while loan deals came in second place with almost 57% of the total funding. Among the investment initiatives, the Pre-Series A and Series A rounds were particularly noteworthy.

Funding for this week was $125.13 million, a substantial 71% decrease from $447.6 million the previous week.

During the previous eight weeks, the funding stands at around $259 million with 27 deals for each week. 

1. ShareChat secured $49 million in debt funding

Social media platform ShareChat has acquired funding of $49 million via convertible debentures. The funding was led by its existing investors' Temasek and Lightspeed. The funding was held by the participation of Harbour Vest, Moore Strategic Ventures, Rimco and Alkeon. 

2. Fin-tech firm Aye Finance raised 16.5 million funds 

Aye Finance raised 16.5 million funds from German Impact Investors in the latest funding round. The fresh issue of funds will be used to enhance the company's capacity to offer vital financial assistance to underserved MSMEs (Medium, small, and micro enterprises) across India. 

3.  Sindhuja Microcredit raises $ 14.5 million in funds 

In the latest round-up series, the Noida-based firm Sindhuja Mocrocredit raised funds amounting to $14.5 million by selling equity shares. The firm aims to grow its business by 50% in the coming year. The deal was led by Gawa Capital and Oikocredit. 

4. KreditBee raised funds in Series D funding round

The lending tech Bengaluru-based start-up KreditBee topped the list by acquiring additional funding this week. The deal was led by existing investors, including Advent International, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) Bank, Premji Invest, Motilal Oswal Alternates, NewQuest Capital Partners, and Mirae Asset Ventures. In the funding round of Series D, the firm raised $ 9.4 million. 

5. Ad-tech firm AdOnMo has raised $ 7 million in Series B1 round

The Zomato-backed Ad-tech firm AdOnMo has raised $ 7 million in a Series B1 round. It is the major infusion in the Hyderabad-based company after its Series A round led by Zomato last year.

6. MobiKwik has raised $ 6 million in debt from BlackSoil

IPO-bound MobiKwik acquired $6 million in debt from BlackSoil Capital by issuing 1,000 Non-Convertible Debentures for Rs 5,00,000 each. With this fund issue, the company looks to raise additional funds, out of which some part will be dedicated to its financial services division.

7. TAC Security acquired INR 8.55 Cr from anchor Investors ahead of the IPO

The Vijay Kedia-backed firm TAC acquired INR 8.55 Cr by allocating 8,06,400 equity shares to anchor investors at INR 106 per share. Anchor Investor list includes NAV Capital VCC – NAV Capital Emerging Star Fund, Astorne Capital VCC, Beacon Stone Capital VCC – Beacon Stone I, Zinnia Global Fund PCC – Cell Dewcap Fund and LC Radiance Fund VCC.

8. Bambrew has raised $7 million led by Blume Ventures

Bambrew, a sustainable packaging startup acquired $ 7 million led by Blume Ventures. The deal was led by other investors Blue Ashva Capital, Mumbai Angels, Indus Capital, Capital-A and others.

9. SuperK has raised $6 million in a Series A round

Super K, an Indian branded franchised retail chain for small towns of India acquired $ 6 million in a Series A. The deal was led by Blume Ventures with participation from Silver Needle Ventures, Veltis Capital, Atrium Angels, and some angel investors and syndicates.

10. SydeLabs raised funds of $ 2.50 million 

AI security and risk management SydeLabs acquired funding of $ 2.50 million in the latest funding round. This was led by RTP Global with participation from Picus Capital and a few angel investors. To build a suite of solutions which help detect and prevent vulnerabilities in AI tools.

11. Nomoex Global raised funds led by Adyton Ventures

Crypto exchange Nomoex Global raised funds and acquired funding of $ 2 million. The deal was led by Adyton Ventures in participation with Empowering Digit Assets Traders. Nomoex is revolutionizing the digital asset trading landscape with its inventive solutions.

12. Proptech firm Aeria raises $ 1.8 million in a pre-seeding funding round

Aeria raised $ 1.8 million in pre-seed funding led by Kalaari Capital and Foundamental along with AC Ventures, and AL Trust among others. Aeria is a tenant experience and asset management platform for commercial real estate.

13.  JustDeliveries logistics solutions provider raised funds

Logistics solutions for perishables, JustDeliveries has acquired $ 1 million in its pre-Series A round. The deal was led by Nabventures, Faad Network, Anay Ventures, Caret Capital and Mahansaria Family Office.

14. Elevate Foods raised funds led by Wavemaker Impact

Elevate Foods, the inaugural company in South Asia committed to empowering Indian farm-gate processors and aiding their entry into global markets, has disclosed a pre-seed funding round of $525,000. This funding round was spearheaded by climate-focused investors, Wavemaker Impact based in Singapore.

15. Dakia start-up powered by AI raised funds this week

Daakia Private Limited has secured INR 4 Cr in the latest seed-funding, which was led by MD Green Apple Enterprise, Sai Kumar Marasu and a few other angel investors who also contributed to this deal.

16. B2B footwear start-up Kaarigar Mandi  steals a deal and secures INR 1.75 Cr

Kaarigar Mandi, a B2B footwear start-up raised funding and acquired INR 1.75B Cr in the latest seed-funding round. The deal was led by Kyt Ventures, with participation from Upaya Social Ventures, IIMA Ventures, and IIM Calcutta Innovation Park.
