Cureous Labs, a medical technology startup focused on improving patient care and nursing efficiency, has raised Rs. 1.66 crore in a Seed funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), with participation from Anthill Ventures.

The funds will be used to manufacture the first batch of the company’s automated patient repositioning systems, Eturnal, build inventory, and make key hires in sales and business development. The investment will also support the launch of Cureous Labs’ first Disinfection Centre, facilitate product safety testing and certifications, and expand the company’s product portfolio for existing B2B customers across India.

Founded by Asish Mohandas, Cureous Labs is a spinoff from the Biodesign Fellowship at AIIMS & IIT Delhi. Asish, a Biodesign Fellow and Master of Design graduate from IIT Kanpur, is also the first National James Dyson Awardee for a medical device developed during his time at IIT Kanpur. His background combines healthcare innovation with user-centred design, aimed at creating solutions tailored to the Indian healthcare landscape.

The devices are currently in use across hospitals, rehabilitation centres, and home care settings, with over 30,000 hours of usage and more than 14,000 automated patient turns recorded. Cureous Labs is also running active B2B and B2C sales and rental pilots across South India.

In India, the total addressable market is valued at $8.34 billion, with a serviceable available market of $1.56 billion and a serviceable obtainable market of $656 million. With an ageing population and increasing demand for elderly care solutions, Cureous Labs aims to scale its offerings to meet both domestic and international needs.
