On September 13, Black Bazza Coffee Co. will host a coffee and macadamia event exploring flavour and sustainability. On September 14, mixologist Ishrat Kaur will lead a cocktail workshop at Soka Cocktail Bar. In addition, an industry trade meet will take place on September 11 at The Lalit Ashok Bangalore, bringing together chefs, R&D specialists, and FMCG representatives to discuss the commercial use of Australian macadamias in India.
Macadamias, native to Australia for more than 60 million years, are the only Australian food crop traded internationally. Today, over 700 growers across three states produce about 50,000 tonnes annually. Grown sustainably along Australia’s east coast, macadamias are valued for their creamy texture, delicate crunch, and health benefits, being naturally rich in monounsaturated fats, fibre, and antioxidants.
Jacqui Price, General Manager of Marketing of the Australian Macadamia Society, said, “Bangalore’s culinary landscape is incredibly dynamic, and the Australian Macadamia Festival is the perfect way to introduce the richness and versatility of Australian macadamias to this city of food lovers."
