L’Oréal Professionnel has announced the launch of its first-ever Global Creative Contributors, marking a new chapter in how the brand collaborates with hairstylists worldwide. Among the selected contributors is Indian celebrity hairstylist Amit Thakur, who will represent India as part of this global creative collective.
The Global Creative Contributors initiative introduces a new model of partnership for L’Oréal Professionnel. Rather than working as brand ambassadors, contributors are positioned as long-term creative partners who actively participate in shaping the future of professional hair. The collective brings together experts from salons, education, editorial, celebrity styling, backstage, and digital platforms, reflecting the breadth of the modern hair industry.
As a Global Creative Contributor, Amit Thakur joins an international group selected for their technical excellence, creativity, and commitment to the craft of hairdressing. The contributors will work closely with L’Oréal Professionnel to co-develop content, professional insights, hair events, and creative outputs supported by the brand’s scientific and technological expertise. The collaboration aims to decode emerging trends, highlight professional techniques, and translate innovation into practical tools for hair professionals globally.
Amit Thakur is an internationally recognised Indian hairstylist whose work spans cinema, fashion, and editorial platforms. Known for a style that balances precision with emotion and craft with modernity, his work has appeared in Vogue India, Vogue Italia, Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, Cosmopolitan, and Grazia. His career includes styling for global platforms such as Cannes, Milan Fashion Week for Gucci, and the Met Gala, including Alia Bhatt’s Cannes debut.
In 2025, Amit was awarded Zee Hair Icon of the Year and ELLE Hair Artist of the Year in recognition of his contribution to the beauty industry. Alongside his styling work, he is committed to education and mentorship as the founder of Mane Masters, an advanced hair education platform through which he has trained hundreds of students globally in styling, technique, and creative process.
Expressing his delight in being part of the crew, Amit Thakur said, “Being part of the L’Oreal Professionnel Global Creative Contributors family feels like a defining milestone in my professional journey. It’s an opportunity to push creative boundaries with purpose. It is both an honor and a responsibility to create, to inspire, and to represent Indian hair artistry on a global stage. Representing India worldwide brings me back to my beginnings, my roots, and the years of passion and hard work that have shaped this moment.”
With the launch of the Global Creative Contributors, L’Oréal Professionnel reinforces its approach to collaboration by bringing together diverse global talent to collectively shape the future of professional hair, with Amit Thakur representing Indian hair artistry on an international platform.
