One standout feature is the large angel statue that sits in the mid-room area, adding a touch of global flair to the space—almost like you’ve stepped into a trendy spot in Los Angeles. It's so Instagrammable that you’ll find yourself snapping pictures of the stunning interiors before you even get to the food. Now, let’s talk about the food. We kicked off our feast with the Carrot Potato Leek Soup, which was innovative yet felt like a warm hug in winter. The soup was served with a twist, giving you the chance to interact with it. Pouring the hot soup gently over the garnish and watching it melt into the bowl was a simple yet satisfying moment.

Next came the Crispy Sushi Roll. Now, if you think you’ve seen it all when it comes to sushi, think again! Moomba’s sushi is a delightful combination of crispy outer layers stuffed with fresh vegetables from their in-house pantry. The freshness of the ingredients really made a difference, adding a burst of flavour with every bite. And did we mention the crunch? It was an ideal fusion of texture and taste.

Next was their Tandoori Aloo Nazakat, which truly caught our attention. You might not even be able to tell where the aloo is in the dish. The potato is used in such an innovative way for the outer layer, while the stuffing consists of a mix of vegetables and nuts. It’s a delightful example of how Moomba brings fresh, new ideas to old favourites. Truly, they know how to elevate the humble Aloo Tandoori to something special.

The Pan-Fried Basa Fish, served on a bed of mashed beetroot and potato, was the perfect main course for anyone who loves juicy, fresh fish. Then came the Rosemary Chicken and Rice. If you’re a fan of wholesome meals, it could easily become your go-to. The chicken was tender-juicy and the rice was aromatic and full of flavour, just the way we Bengalis like it.

For all pizza lovers, Moomba’s Classic Margarita Wood-Fired Pizza is a must-try. Made fresh in their wood-fired oven, it has that smoky flavour you can only get from a proper wooden oven. Though I missed the cheese pull, the pizza still lived up to its promise with a crisp crust and generous cheese. Plus, if you book a window seat, you can even watch your pizza come out of the oven, which makes the whole experience even more thrilling.

They offer a wide range of cocktails and mocktails, with separate bar zones. But the one drink that stole the show for us was their signature Tikki Nawab. This whiskey-based drink has a smoky twist, making it not only delicious but also visually stunning.

No meal is complete without dessert, and Moomba has some truly indulgent options. Moomba’s Signature Ice Cream is a treat you won’t want to miss. We tried the Coconut Nolen Gur flavour and the texture was smooth the Nolen Gur flavour added a special touch that reminded us of Bengal’s winter delicacies. To balance things out we paired it with a classic Tiramisu and honestly, it was one of the authentic Tiramisu in Kolkata we had, perfect sweet finish. If you’re someone who enjoys exploring new hangout places in Kolkata or loves to indulge in food that’s both comforting and exciting, Moomba is the just right one.
