The fierce monkey king, who battled demons out of sheer devotion to Lord Ram, is revered by many names such as Sankat Mochan, Bajrangbali, and Ram Bhakt. 1. Madapam, Andhra Pradesh
The statue in Madapam, located in the Srikakulam District of Andhra Pradesh, is the tallest Hanuman statue in India. Situated on the north bank of the Vamsadhara River in North Andhra, it stands at a staggering height of 176 feet and is even recorded in the Limca Book of Records. Constructed in 2005, it cost approximately ₹10 million at that time.
2. Bidanagere, Karnataka
The Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy statue or five-faced statue of Hanuman in Bidanagere, Karnataka is a must-visit. The five faces of the mighty monkey god: Hayagriva, Narasimha, Garuda, Varaha, and his own face Hanuman shimmer with golden colour. It stands 161 feet long and was inaugurated in 2022 by the then Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai.
3. Paritala, Andhra Pradesh
The Veera Abhaya Anjaneya Hanuman Swami in Andhra Pradesh is one of the oldest Hanuman statues in India. It was erected in 2003 with the Veera Abhaya Anjaneya Swami form of Hanuman. The 135-foot-tall statue is a few kilometers away from Vijayawada, so you can add it to the list of local attractions the next time you visit the state.
4. Damanjodi, Odisha
Damonjodi city in Odisha beholds another statue of the 11th incarnation of Shiva. The 108.9 feet statue was constructed in 2017. This Hanumanji statue is at the Abhay Anjaneya Temple. It can be seen from any part of the city and is one of the most visited attractions in the Koraput district of Odisha.
5. Jakhu, Shimla
Surrounded by lush green trees and overlooking Shimla’s highest peak, Jakhu Hill is adorned with a pastel-orange statue of Hanuman, standing at 108 feet tall. Inaugurated in 2010, visitors can enjoy a majestic view of the hills from this location while riding in an aerial cart.
6. Karol Bagh, Delhi
The Sankat Mochan Hanuman Mandir houses a 108-foot-tall statue of the monkey king. As one of the oldest temples, the site of Karol Baugh is further enhanced by the towering statue standing within its lanes. What makes this statue particularly unique is the presence of small idols of Ram and Sita on its chest, along with its moving hands, which never fail to leave visitors in awe.
7. Nandura, Maharashtra
This statue falls on the national highway in the Nandura city of Maharashtra. It is 105 feet tall offering a marvelous view for the vehicles passing by the highway. The idol gets the cream colour because it is entirely made of marble and looks eye-catching.
8. Agara, Bengaluru
This 102 statue in the Agara district of Bengaluru is a vibrant idol with a blend of colours. It is situated near the Hanuman Temple of the Agara village. If you happen to visit the Agara Lake which is near this temple, you will definitely get a sight of this idol.
