Mumbai’s Altitude – Ball In, Ball Out is India’s First Ever Ball Pit for Adults

Local Samosa checked out the place and had a ball (pun intended)!

At the heart of the venue lies a massive 1,500 sq. ft. ball pit, overflowing with about 2,00,000 colourful balls. These create an inviting vibe, asking visitors to dive in, splash around, and experience a blissful sense of weightlessness. Created by Nishita Shah, Altitude – Ball In, Ball Out was born from her vision to provide adults with a unique escape, allowing them to rediscover the pure joy of play. With this innovative concept now open, the definition of adult entertainment in the city has been forever transformed.

Altitude – Ball In, Ball Out offers an exciting variety of entertainment beyond its iconic ball pit. The place is packed with thrilling activities like the Bungee Adventure, Sniper Shooting, and even bowling. And we tried most of them. For sports lovers, there are basketball hoops to practice your game, while visitors can also challenge friends to thrilling bowling matches. The Bungee Adventure is a virtual reality experience with 12 immersive scenarios. Classic arcade games like Crazy Guitar, the hammer strength test, and the high-energy Basketball Game promise endless fun and excitement for all.

Straight from the Owner

We talked with Nishita, who talked about the inspiration behind the place. “I have always had entrepreneurial dreams. Once I was in London and visited Ballie Ballerson, a giant glowing ball pit with over a million balls. And that kickstarted the idea of wanting something similar in my country, my city.”

Like anyone out there, we were also curious about the reciprocation. “The response has been tremendous. The fact that this is one-of-a-kind makes newer people walk in every single day. We are seeing a lot of teenagers and young adults come in. We have age restrictions in place, and younger kids are not allowed for their own safety. We are well-equipped with fire safety, theft and first-aid.”

Re-energise with Good Food

After spending so much time in the game zone, we headed to the food section for some refuelling. There’s a carefully curated menu offering snacks like Cigar Rolls, Khichiya Avocado Salsa, Gnocchi Pasta, and Watermelon Feta Salad. The mains included Chole Kulche, Mac and Cheese, Paneer Makhani, Thai Curry Rice, and Hakka Noodles. Signature mocktails like Lost in Guava, Kafir Royal, Blue Lagoon, and Purple Rain offer a refreshing break, while indulgent desserts like Sizzling Brownie and Apple Pie sweeten the experience. Though the menu was extensive, we felt that it was average at best.

Crowd Reaction

We had to talk to the hundreds of people enjoying themselves at Altitude. “It actually brings out your inner child. It’s a place you can hang out with your friends, it’s different, it’s lively, it’s a good vibe,” said one enthusiastic visitor. “It actually relaxes you. Living in an age that’s completely digital, this place makes you put your screen down. I would give it 10 on 10.”

“The prices might seem steep, but you do get your money’s worth here,” chimed in another visitor.

• Shoes and accessories need to be put away inside lockers before you head in.
• The place also needs you to sign a waiver for injuries and/or lost items.
