Shark Tank India S3: Vecros Drone is set to fly with its autonomous drones after a deal from Aman Gupta

As seen in the 10th episode of season 3 of Shark Tank India, Vecros Drone - India’s first self-flying special AI Drone is here to solve the problem of drone jamming with its autonomous drones. 

Prem Sai, one of the co-founders of Vecros, was pursuing engineering at IIT Delhi when he observed that a majority of drones in India rely on GPS technology for their operation. However, the challenge inherent in GPS-enabled drones lies in their susceptibility to GPS jamming and spoofing. In scenarios where such drones operate within areas equipped with drone jammers, their functionality is compromised, rendering them ineffective and defeating their intended purpose.

With this problem in mind, Sai and his co-founder, Rajeshree Rajesh Deotalu, developed an automated technology capable of producing GPS-disabled drones. Following extensive research and development, they introduced their flagship product, Athera – India’s pioneering self-flying specialized AI Drone. Athera finds applications in inspection monitoring, railway bridges, construction, and disaster areas where immediate data is essential.

Experience in Shark Tank India 

Pitching this model in the third season of Shark Tank India, the co-founders placed an initial offering of Rs. 1 crore at 2.5% equity, resulting in a valuation of Rs. 40 crores. Despite all the sharks backing out, Aman Gupta, Co-founder and CMO of boAt, stepped forward with an offer of Rs. 20 lakhs for 1% equity and Rs. 80 lakhs in debt at 10% for 3 years. The deal was closed, and Vecros was pleased with the offer. Continuing his excitement about the deal, Prem shared his experience at Shark Tank with Local Samosa, saying, "It was my first time meeting the sharks, so the experience was overwhelming.” He further added that the process was good for a first-time visitor to the show and looks forward to better seasons in the future.
