In 1991, Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) was set up with the status of an autonomous society in the field of Science and Technology under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity). These are the spaces that promote the IT/ITES industry, innovation, R&D, and startups. Here are some of the popular technology parks in India. 

Electropreneur Park, Delhi

This Delhi facility has modern state-of-the-art ESDM laboratories, 3d modelling and 3d printer facility, virtual incubation and acceleration support, along with investment and funding support. Moreover, for the start-ups, there are facilities of prototyping support, 24x7 security facility with CCTV surveillance, patent filing assistance and much more.

Virtual and Augmented Reality Centre of Excellence (VARCoE), Bhubhaneshwar

The Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Centre offers space for research and innovation activities that are being conducted in a number of areas, which include productivity software, art and architecture, transportation, construction, tourism, health and medical sciences, product and skill development, entertainment and education and more.

Internet of Things (IoT) in Agriculture CoE, Guwahati

IoT promotes the use of robots, drones, sensors, and computer imaging integrated along with analytical tools for getting insights about farms and enhancing agricultural activities. The placement of physical equipment on farms comes in handy in monitoring and recording data, which is further used to obtain important insights.

Apiary, Gurugram 

The STPI Apiary, or is it called 'A Centre of Entrepreneurship in Blockchain Technology', is a facility set up in collaboration with Meity, STPI, along with the government of Haryana, Padup Venture Private Limited, IBM, Intel, GBA, JCBOSEUST, DCRUST and FITT. This was created to identify and evaluate the start-ups in the field of Blockchain Technology, which will be hosted in the STPI Gurugram Incubation Facility.

MedTech CoE, Lucknow

A Center of Entrepreneurship created in the field of MediElectronics and Health Informatics, this is a government's initiative along with SGPGI Lucknow, Department of IT and Electronics, Government Of UP, Association Of Indian Medical Device Industry (AIMED), Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) and with Kalam Institute of Health Technology (KIHT). It primarily works for boosting start-ups in the field of medical equipment/electronics and health informatics. Moreover, it also provides access to Technocrat/Medical practitioners' mentorship, other mentorship programs and VC funding.

These technology parks, other than providing platforms, are aimed at fostering an environment that is conducive for Indian startups.
