General Criteria for Blood Donors:

• The person should be fit and in a healthy condition.
• Should be between the ages of 18 to 65 years.
• Weight should be more than 45 kgs (in most cases).
• Should have Hemeoglobin more than 12.5 gm/dl.
• The donation interval for whole blood donation should be once in three months for males and four months for females.
• The donor should not have had malaria in the last three months.
• The donor should not have had jaundice or typhoid in the last year.
• The donor should not have Uncontrolled Thyroid disorders, Diabetes, Heart disease, cardiovascular diseases or infectious diseases such as HIV, Hepatitis B or C or Cancer (other diseases may vary as per the donation centre).
• Should not have had a blood transfusion in the last 12 months.
• Other requirements as per the donation centre or doctor's guidelines.
