1. DGCA issues most commercial pilots licenses

The Aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued 1,081 commercial pilot licenses in 2022, making it the highest for any year in the last decade. In 2014, 896 licenses were issued while 862 licenses were issued in 2021. According to the official reports, the development has been observed when civil aviation is recovering at a good speed.
2. Sukhwinder Singh takes oath as CM of Himachal Pradesh

As Congress won the elections in Himachal Pradesh, the senior leader of the party, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, took oath as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. Along with him, the Deputy Chief Minister, Mukesh Agnihotri, also took oath in the swearing-in ceremony at ridge ground in Shimla.
3. Karnataka to rename temple rituals of Tipu Sultan’s era

Karnataka government has decided to rename the 18th-century temple rituals from the era of Mysuru ruler- Tipu Sultan, like ‘Salaam Arathi’, ‘Salaam Mangalarathi’ and ‘Deevatige Salaam’, to local nomenclatures. Although the rituals are not being tampered with, only the names will be changed, with the Hindi dialects.
4. Railways to include sleeper berths in Vande Bharat

As per Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Railways is going to introduce the sleeper berths in Vande Bharat, semi-high speed trains. Currently, the trains have chair car seating arrangements for the passengers. However, the dates for the development of the trains have not been disclosed yet.
5. PT Usha becomes the first woman president of the Indian Olympic Association

PT Usha, who is also fondly called, ‘Payyoli Express’, has become the first woman president to be elected to the Indian Olympic Association. As a matter of fact, Usha has been elected unopposed to the top position as no candidate was willing to fight against PT Usha. The elections were due to be held in 2021.
