As the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi reached "407", in the 'severe' category, the Commission for Air Quality Management banned all private construction activity and invoked other emergency measures too. The government of Delhi might also consider banning vehicles that do not adhere to the emissions norms.

2. 6th Vande Bharat to be inaugurated on December 11

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 6th Vande Bharat train of India on December 11. The train will run between Bilaspur, Chattisgarh to Nagpur, Maharashtra. It will run six days a week and will be likely to complete the journey in five-and-a-half-hour. The first Vande Bharat train was started between Ahmedabad to Mumbai.

3. 18,000 students recite Bhagwat Gita at Kurushetra

A total of 18,000 students recited 18 'shlokas' together from eighteen chapters of the Bhagavad Gita during the 'Vaishvik Gita Path' in Kurukshetra on Sunday. The event was organized as part of the International Gita Mahotsav at the Theme Park. Along with this, 75,000 students joined the event online too and recited the chapters.

4. Madras High Court prohibits mobile phones inside temples

To maintain the "purity" of the temple premises, the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court directed the government of Tamil Nadu to ban the usage of mobile phones in temples across the state. Some other temples across the country also follow a similar ban for the temples.

5. India goes to the 48th spot in the international aviation safety ranking

India has escalated to the 48th position in the international aviation safety ranking by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This is the highest rank ever for the country, and before this, four years ago, India was at the 102nd spot in the rankings.
