If Dim Sums and Sushis are your comfort food, plan a visit to Pa Pa Ya in Lower Parel and dig in some real good food.
There are many Asian restaurants in the city, but only a few were able to win our tastebuds, and Pa Pa Ya is definitely among them. This modern Asian bistro doesn’t only offers a delectable eating experience but also pleases the eyes with its fun and chic ambience. The staff is accommodating and knows their job pretty well, while the quick service makes it a perfect place for a scrumptious food treat.

Pa Pa Ya has been awarded for its Sushis, and after trying them, we understood why. The Vegetable maki was our favourite, and it was a rich combination of chewy and crunchy. The tangy flavour was great, while the generous topping of dried spinach was something different. The corn and asparagus dim sums, on the other hand, were also fun to chew. However, the sweet and sour filling of corn was a bit dry and we wish it was moister.
Before digging into the main course, we tried the Beer battered avocado tacos, which were so good. The crunchy taco shells filled with corn and kimchi were an absolute delight. A tangy and spicy flavour was more than just fine and it’s a must-try. For the mains, we ended up ordering bowls of fried rice and the veg red curry. The rice had a tinge of spiciness which we loved, while the thick gravy was loaded with stir-fried veggies and was totally delectable.
For dessert, we suggest going forward with the superb Chocolate Ball on Fire which was a totally indulgent affair and is not just fun to eat but also fun to watch the way it is presented. The hot orange liquor is poured over the chocolate ball and melts it just right. An Insta-worthy shot we say!
To sum it up, Pa Pa Ya is a must-visit if you love sushi and Asian food in general. The wine is great, and their mocktail menu is also worth trying.
