1. Railways deploy robots to disinfect coaches

The Northern Railways has deployed Ultraviolet-C disinfectant robots to disinfect the coaches. These robots are remote-controlled machines. The process will eliminate the involvement of humans, and the work will solely be carried out by the robots. Lucknow was the first city to use this technique, after which the other cities have started following the same.

2. Cops turned reachers for slum kids of Kolkata

Pransenjit Chatterjee, the officer-in-charge of the southwest traffic guard in Kolkata, had once found some slum kids trying to understand books while sitting beside the railway tracks. This incident provoked the officer to direct his subordinates to arrange classes for them. Since then, the traffic police personnel teaches the kids for two hours every day.

3. Gurgaon company recycles old car seat belts to convert into fancy bags

Jaggery bags, a Gurgaon-based company, recycles the old seat belts of the scrapped cars to make fancy bags for people. As of now, the company has used 4,000 meters of seat belts and 1,000 meters of cargo belts to make bags and travel kits. The belts are first cleaned, measured, and then dyed in various colors for the products.

5. AIIMS doctor provides free cancer care in his village

Dr. Sunil Kumar, an Assistant Professor of cancer surgery at AIIMS in Delhi, never forgets to visit his village Jamuhar in Bihar to provide a free consultation to people. He even helps people with treatment planning and assists in getting admission to hospitals for their cancer treatment. The novel initiative has been taken by him through his NGO 'Chandrakanti Devi Cancer Foundation’, which is named after his mother, who is a cancer survivor.
